Crews from Martock and Crewkerne were initially mobilised to help a driver and her dog, who had got stranded after driving into flood water. However, due to flood water en route our crew from Crewkerne were unable to make it to scene and had to turn back.

Once on scene our Martock crew made contact with the lady in her vehicle, confirming both herself and her dog were ok and did not require medical attention, before donning water safety equipment to wade through the water.

At 18:45hrs they had helped her out of the vehicle and were walking back to dry land. At 18:55hrs both the driver and her dog were in a place of safety, whereby our crew waited with her until a family member arrived on scene. A road closure was put in place to ensure no other vehicles were able to enter the water and get stranded also.
