Barn Fire at Burnt House Lane, Stoke St Michael

2 fire engines from Shepton Mallet and a water carrier from Yeovil were sent to a report of a barn alight at the above location.
On arrival the crews requested the attendance of another fire engine as they needed more water.  This was sent from Frome.
The barn measures approximately 50m x 20m and contains fertiliser and straw.  A specialist hazardous materials officer is also in attendance due to the involvement of the fertiliser and an environmental protection unit from Taunton is en route.
2 breathing apparatus wearers with 2 firefighting jets are at work attacking the fire involving fertiliser and around 32 tonnes of straw.  Another fire engine has recently been requested to attend as the crews needed more breathing apparatus sets, this has been sent from Frome.
